Member in Focus: Philip Burrus
The latest IP Member In Focus article is dedicated to some of the successful sole practitioners in the IP Section. One of the sole practitioners who volunteered to offer insights for this article is Philip Burrus. While sole practitioners like Philip may not receive the attention that larger firms do, they are a thriving component of the IP Section.
Philip Burris, who established his firm – Burrus Intellectual Property Group - approximately four years ago after practicing as an inhouse patent attorney with Motorola. Phil is an inventor himself, having received a patent on a golf swing training aid in addition to other patents. After receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and working as an engineer, Philip assumed a patent agent position at Motorola while obtaining his law and business degrees at Emory.
