Patent Attorney position with NCR
Position Summary: The Patent Attorney is primarily responsible for preparing and prosecuting patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Additional duties include: assisting business clients to document inventions, and counseling clients on the patentability of inventions. Other potential duties include supporting licensing, litigation, and merger and acquisition projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Prepare U.S. patent applications.
- Prepare amendments, appeals, and other responses to USPTO Office Actions.
- Work with business clients to document inventions.
- Counsel clients on the patentability of inventions.
- Conduct client training sessions.
- Attend client meetings directed to reviewing inventions for possible filing as patent applications.
Basic Requirements
- J.D. degree and license to practice law in at least one recognized jurisdiction within the United States.
- Admitted to practice patent law before the USPTO.
- Minimum of five years experience in preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
Preferred Requirements
- B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
