We have out grown our current location in the northern Atlanta suburbs and will be moving our office. We are relocating to the heart of Buckhead/Atlanta by January 2012. The new office is conveniently located at the corner of Peachtree & Piedmont in one of the largest business districts and is near great restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and luxury condominium living.

The Legal Administrator will be responsible for the overall legal and contract administration of the corporate office.  You will interface with and provide support to the international affiliates in areas of legal and contractual matters.  You will coordinate intellectual property activities and assist with the preparation and filing of patent, trademark and copyright applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the preparation, filing and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications
  • Assist with the preparation of trademark and copyright applications and provide supporting documents and sample products for proof of ownership and first use; provide copyright and trademark ownership documents and reports as needed for international agencies as required
  • Maintaining and responding to docket deadlines
  • Electronically file documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office
  • Assist with the preparation of vendor contracts and agreements, ensuring that executed copies are received and filed
  • Review license agreements and prepare contract summaries for distribution to appropriate parties
  • Review contracts to ensure certain terms and conditions are met in areas of deliverables, intellectual property notices, termination dates, and packaging requirements
  • Maintain database of all contracts and agreements for tracking purposes and monitor contractual deadlines and deliverables and communicates this information to appropriate departments
  • Conduct research for proposed product names to determine availability; coordinate additional searches and follow-up with internal staff and attorneys
  • Track all legal expenses against annual budget at a project level, summarize monthly and provide updates
  • Research song ownership information; assist in obtaining licenses for use of copyrighted songs in connection with various company offerings
  • Assist in gathering information and preparing correspondence in response to CPSC product safety issues; compile information and submit monthly CPSC reports; assist in product recalls and maintain appropriate records
  • Coordinate product insurance claims and track costs; assist in legal cases involving product claims
  • Provide administrative support to the CCO and Corporate IP Counsel including preparing correspondence, scheduling appointments, managing the filing system, disseminating information, and preparing reports

Candidates will need a two-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Will need strong communication skills both written and presentation.
